Intensive uses of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles in many consumer products, e.g., toothpaste, cosmetics, paints food colorants, and in cancer therapy as a result of their high optical performance, high redox activity, and large surface area increase their human exposure and their risk. Indeed, nano-TiO2 was reported to kill viruses, e.g., Poliovirus 1, hepatitis B virus, Herpes simplex virus, and MS2 bacteriophage. That forced us to evaluate the possible reduction of nano-titanium induced genotoxicity by natural antioxidant chlorophyllin.
I'm now a lecturer of Genetics inZoology Department Faculty of Science Cairo University and one of the editorial board of Aperito journal of Liver and Pancreatic Disease, obtaining the M.Sc (2008) and ph.D degrees (2012) in Cyto and Molecular Genetics from Faculty of Science Cairo University. Now, teaching various courses in Faculty of Science.
